Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival for October 6, 2009

This is my first time hosting the Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival.  I'm sorry to say that it is going to be a bare bones, cut to the chase, kind of carnival.  I've had a cold and was feeling under the weather for almost a week.  I went to the doctor yesterday, and walked out with full blown bronchitis.  In light of my diseased self, don't look for an entry from your host.  Next time, I promise.

Barb-Harmony Art Mom presents Creative Atmosphere In Your Home posted at Harmony Art Mom.

Naomi presents The Icing on the Cake posted at Living Charlotte Mason in California.

Richele presents Narration Flip Cards posted at Under the Golden Apple Tree.  This is Richele's first time submitting to the carnival.  Welcome!

MasterpieceMom presents A Productive Day posted at Masterpiece Theater.

Pauline presents The Formation of Habit: Charlotte Mason Style posted at Ordinary Days. I know I've forgotten this at times, too.

Heather presents Suzuki Primer posted at Maple Hill Academy.

Cindy presents Rousseau's Jungle Paintings posted at Our Journey Westward.

Barb-Harmony Art Mom presents How to Naturally Share Nature Study With Your Child posted at Handbook of Nature Study.

Amber presents Book Review and Narrations: Heidi posted at The Mommy Earth.

scarlett presents Keeping a Schedule with Charlotte Mason posted at Perfectly Imperfect In Every Way.

MasterpieceMom presents Carrot Cake Math posted at Masterpiece Theater.

Jimmie presents Mathematicians are People, Too posted at The Curriculum Choice.

Debbie Phillips presents Charlotte Mason Homeschooling posted at Debbie's Digest.

Dana Wilson presents Charlotte Mason Mondays - Using Habits in Personal Training posted at Epi Kardia.  Beginning training children to have good habits when they are very young yields great dividends by the time they are school-aged.

Definitely, our most original submission comes from Angie who presents Preparing for a FRESH Chicken Dinner posted at All About Him.  This definitely falls under the headings of nature study and life skills.  I might also add economics.

The next blog carnival will be hosted by Holistic Homeschooler.   You can submit your entries HERE.

  4. Although it was simple, I really enjoyed the carnival this week. It is the entries that make the carnival a success and there are some really nice ones this time.

I always look forward to reading your posts and I hope you feel better soon. :)

  6. Cut to the chase is good. Sometimes carnivals are way too fancy. It's hard to find the posts nestled among all the fancy stuff. You did fine!

  8. Oh, and I don't care about the fancy stuff either. It can be neat and interesting, but straight-to-the-point and practical definitely has its benefits. I've never hosted but I'd think just making sure all the links and names/titles were correct for everyone's posts would be a job enough!

  9. Thanks for posting my article! I especially appreciate your pulling this together when you didn't feel well. As others have said, you did a great job and it was very easy to see the articles!

I hope you are feeling better by now!

    Thanks again and God bless!
