My new sewing machine

Up until now, I've been using a Brother sewing machine with 9 different stitches that I bought with Christmas money twenty something years ago.  When I made Ginger's Halloween Costume this year, I struggled. It wasn't working like it should. It needed to be serviced. I had to adapt the pattern and the costume draping because it was too much material for my little machine to handle.

So, for Christmas, my parents bought me a brand new Singer Confidence  7467.

How exactly was I ever able to sew a stitch without this miracle?   It is so quiet, I'll be able to sew with everyone asleep, even the dog.  It doesn't  jiggle my sewing table.  I'm not struggling to keep seams straight.  I don't have to change my tension with every new piece of material.  I can now choose from 70 different stitches!

It's official.  I'm in love.  Who would ever have thought?

  1. Sew Happy for you. My sewing machine needs to be replaced too. It is about 26 years old. I bought it for my mom when she was making my bridesmaids dresses.

This one has been a lemon though. Very temperamental. It has to be threaded just right and with the right kind of thread. Also have to use a right type of needle and any amount of fuzz knocks it out of whack. You can be sewing with it just fine and bingo now it's not sewing right. You have to tear it all apart and clean it.

    Sew glad for you.
