I can not wait until my daughter is a little older and reads this book.

Prove It!  God is a book devoted to answering the tough questions and arguments that people (especially young people) make when they are questioning their faith in God.  It is written for teens in a conversational tone in a question and answer style.

Chapter 1 – On the Spot (Contains information on how a teenager feels when people ask questions about their faith.)

Chapter 2 – Truth or Consequence (Contains why it’s important to be able to justify Truth, both to defend your faith and not fall into the trap of believing other arguments which may sound good but not BE Truth.)

The next section, “I Don’t Believe in God Because…”, deals with the questions surrounding God’s existence.

  • Chapter 3 – …No One Can Prove He Exists
  • Chapter 4 – …Science Shows that the Universe Exists Without a God
  • Chapter 5 – …People Could Have Just Made the Stuff in the Bible Up
  • Chapter 6 – …It’s so Difficult to Find Him
  • Chapter 7 – …People Have So Many Different Ideas About Him
  • Chapter 8 – …There Are So Many Hypocrites in Church
  • Chapter 9 – …People Do Such Horrible Things in the Name of Religion
  • Chapter 10 – …It’s What I Believe and I Don’t Need Anyone Else to Tell Me What to Believe
  • Chapter 11 – …I Want to Be Free to Myself
  • Chapter 12 – …I Don’t Need Him
  • Chapter 13 – …Innocent People Suffer

Epilogue:  What’s the Alternative?

What I liked best about this book are chapters 1-13.  These are not just questions that may be posed by your teen growing up.  They are also questions that other teenagers pose to them.  This book explores each of these topics and prepares the readers for these tough questions with strong answers.

Besides just a teen’s book, I think this book is vital and should be required reading for catechists.  If we want to have lively and current classes, this book will help us prepare for the hard “why” questions that are bound to come up.

Besides, Prove It! God, Amy Welborn  wrote other Prove It! books including Prove It! Church, Prove It! Jesus, Prove It! Prayer, and Prove It! You.

This review was written as part of the Catholic book reviewer program from The Catholic Company. Visit The Catholic Company to find more information on Prove It! God - Revised Edition. They are also a great source for a Catechism of the Catholic Church or a Catholic Bible.
